Opulence

La tendencia perfecta para vestir en Navidad es optar por la opulencia. Decantarnos por tejidos de lujo, texturas y diseños pomposos. La opulencia es sinónimo de glamour. Tanto si eliges lentejuelas, tejidos con brocados, piel, terciopelo o estampados barrocos, acertarás seguro. Además, este tipo de tejidos gruesos como el brocado o el satén grueso son una forma muy calentita de vestir en esta fría época. Los colores también son importantes en esta tendencia; mis favoritos son el azul oscuro, el guinda, el negro, el dorado (no podía faltar) y los colores metálicos.

Opulence is the perfect trend for the Christmas party season. The principles are mainly luxe fabrics, textures and patterns. Opulence it´s synonymous with glamour. You can choose sequins, brocade pattern, leather, velvet or baroque, and you’ll get it right. In addition, thick fabrics like brocade and heavy satin are a warm way to get dressed in this cold weather. Colours are also important in this trend; my favourites are dark blue, oxblood, black, gold (it´s a must in your collection) and metallic.

¿Recordáis este abrigo? Fue una de mis mejores compras del año pasado ya que es un color muy difícil de conseguir. Es muy calentito y como es de corte recto y holgado es muy cómodo. Hoy os lo traigo en un outfit en total black, con pantalón de piel (se ha convertido en un imprescindible de este invierno) y botines altos. El color lavanda le aporta al conjunto un toque de alegría y dulzura. Espero que os guste.  

Do you remember this coat? It was one of my best purchases of last year. This lovely colour is very difficult to get in a coat. It´s very warm and very comfy because of its loose-fitting and straight cut. Today I´ve worn in a total black outfit with leather pants (it´s become an essential this winter) and high booties. Lavender gives the outfit a touch of femininity. I hope you like it.

Junto con la tendencia de los pantalones culotte, la mezcla de estampados sigue siendo la gran incomprendida entre amigas, novios y madres (por no mencionar a las abuelas, jeje). Sin embargo yo la encuentro como una de las cosas más divertidas que puedes hacer con tu armario. Es fresco, arriesgado e innovador. Y si, la clásica combinación de pantalón estampado + camiseta básica está genial, pero de vez en cuando me siento creativa y se me ocurren combinaciones como esta, mucho más expresiva. Además, de esta forma siempre consigues un look único. Es cierto que es difícil y en muchos casos el resultado suele horrorizarnos, pero cuando te sientes a gusto con esta tendencia te das cuenta de que no hay límites. Mixing print is, together with culotte pants, the great misunderstood trend among friends, boyfriends and mothers (not to mention grandmothers, hehe). However I think it´s one of the funniest things you can do with your wardrobe. It's fresh, daring and innovative. And yes, the classic combination of printed pants + basic t-shirt is great, but I occasionally prefer more creative combinations, much more expressive. Moreover, this way you´ll always get a unique outfit. The truth is that it´s difficult and you may be horrified by the result in many cases, but when you feel comfy with this trend you realize that there are no limits. Thank you for all your comments.

CLOSET REHAB: Brush stroke jeans

En la sección de hoy de Closet Rehab os traigo algunas ideas para combinar pantalones con estampado artístico. Este tipo de prendas supone un reto ya que son difíciles de combinar sin acabar con un outfit excesivamente colorista o recargado. La manera más fácil de acertar con este tipo de outfits es optar por un top o jersey en el color básico de fondo del dibujo de los pantalones. En este caso, los míos tienen un fondo blanco, y por eso opté por un jersey blanco y tacones plateados para darle un toque especial. Las otras dos ideas combinan el estampado del pantalón con algún color liso que lleve el estampado. Recordad siempre que los complementos tampoco deben competir con el protagonismo de los pantalones.

In today´s Closet Rehab I wanted to show you some ideas to combine arty print pants. This type of garment is a challenge because they´re difficult to combine. The easiest way of succeeding with this kind of outfits is choosing a top or sweater in the basic background colour of the print. In this case, my pants have a white background, so I chose a white sweater and silver heels for a special touch. The other two ideas combine print pants with a solid color that mix with the print perfectly. Remember always that accessories shouldn´t compete with your statement trousers.
