New York Photo diary (part I)

Hoy me apetecía enseñaros las fotos de un viaje que hice a Nueva York de hace ya unos años. La gran manzana es sin duda una de las capitales más cosmopolitas que he conocido, y también divertida: llena de puestos de perritos calientes, taxis amarillos y hermosos rascacielos. Es una de esas ciudades que ningún amante de las grandes metrópolis debería perderse nunca. Para acompañar, un outfit vibrante para una ciudad vibrante. Espero poder transmitiros con estas fotos lo enamorada que me quedé de esta ciudad y las ganas que tengo de volver :D

Today I wanted to show you the pics of a trip I made to New York some years ago. The Big Apple is certainly one of the most cosmopolitan and entertaining capitals I´ve ever visited: full of hot dog stands, yellow cabs and beautiful skyscrapers. It is one of those cities that a lover of great metropolis shouldn´t miss. As an accompaniment a vibrant outfit for a vibrant city. I hope to convey with my pics how much I fell in love with this city. I´m looking forward to going back :D

Stripes and sequins

No se si os pasará como a mí, pero desde que las lentejuelas y brillos tomaron la calle a plena luz del día me hice fan sin pensarlo. Y es que combinado con alguna prenda un poco más sport puede resultarnos un outfit de lo más urbano y que podemos lucir no sólo en las noches. A mí me gusta especialmente en faldas como en este caso, pero más adelante también me lo veréis en otros ejemplos. Espero que os guste.

Here I am with another gorgeous outfit that I'm sure you will like. Mix for today: sequined skirt. Since they took the streets at daylight I became a total fan of this trend. Combined with a casual garment it can develop in a more urban outfit perfect for wearing in daylight. I specially like it in skirts as in this case, but later you´ll find this particular trend combined in a different way. Really hope you like today´s post.

Lastarria neighbourhood

¿Qué tal la semana? Hoy os traigo un outfit sencillo y monocromático que llevé hace unos días para pasear por el barrio de Lastarria. El sol se dejó ver un poquito y aproveché para dejar el abrigo en el armario y sacar a pasear el trench, mucho más cómodo para estas temperaturas. Las fotos que os dejo son del barrio, uno de mis barrios favoritos de la ciudad.

Hi everyone! How was your week? Today I´m back with a simple yet cool outfit that I wore a few days ago for going out in the afterrnoon. Taking advantage of the nice weather, I decided to leave the coat in the closet and exchanged it for a trench, much more comfortable for these temperatures. I visited the Lastarria neighbourhood, one of my favourites places in Santiago. Thanks for reading!

Hace unas semanas paseando por la ciudad topamos con un grupo de personas que estaban bailando en la calle. Un amigo nos contó que se trataba de una danza boliviana. Realizan una especie de coreografía simulando un enfrentamiento físico, todo acompañado con música de tambores y mucho colorido. Me volví loca haciendo fotos y quería mostrároslo en un post. Como acompañamiento os traigo un look muy simple, pero que a mí me encanta. Los jeans en verde hierba creo que son de mis favoritos. A few weeks ago walking around the city we ran into a group of people who were dancing in the street. A friend told us that it was a Bolivian dance. They perform a kind of choreography simulating a physical confrontation. I went crazy taking photos and wanted to show it to you in a post. As an accompaniment I show you a simple outfit, but I love it. Boil green jeans which I think are one of my favourites. Enjoy the post and thank you for all your comments.

Geometry

Me confieso una obsesionada del mix print. La idea de mezclar estampados muy diferentes me entusiasma. No sólo porque creo que es una forma súper divertida de mezclar nuestras prendas, si no también porque nos permite reutilizar prendas que teníamos olvidadas en el armario para darle un aspecto totalmente distinto mezclándolas con otras que no hubiéramos imaginado. El otro día leí en algún blog que la forma más segura de acertar con un look de este tipo era mezclar estampados en la misma gama de color y curiosamente ha resultado ser mi primera opción (aunque estoy segura de que me iré animando a probar cosas más atrevidas). Qué pensáis: ¿os encanta o os horroriza esta tendencia?

I confess I´m obsessed with mixing prints. The idea delights me. Not only because I think it´s a super funny way to mix our clothes, but also because it allows us to reuse items that we had forgotten in the closet and give them a totally different appearance we hadn´t imagined. The other day I read in a blog that the surest way to get it right with an outfit like this was mixing prints in the same color range. Curiously this was my first choice as well (although I'm sure I'll try more daring outfits later on). What do you think? Do you love this trend or it horrifies you?
