Safari Photo Diary (Part I)

KARIBU

----------------------

Hi everyone. I am very excited about today´s post, because it´s about a trip we´ve wanted to do for years. Finally, this summer, the dream came true.

I love nature and animals. Since I was a child I´ve spent hours and hours in front of a television watching documentaries about African wildlife. I love the colorful tribes and their curious way of life, and I´m very attracted by that strange "rural glamor" Out of Africa style. So this year we finally decided to travel to Kenya.

Do you know what people say about having too high expectations of a place then the place may disappoint you? Well, that didn´t happened to us at all. And I set the bar very, very high. But now I can tell you that phrase that I read hundreds of times on other blogs: it´s a journey that changes your perspective, totally different from any other type of trip you can imagine.

The beauty of its natural reserves. The adeventure to go looking for animals in the undergrowth. The surprise of suddenly finding a corpse perched at the top of a tree and you know that a leopard has to be near (with the feeling of anguish and excitement that you feel). The wonderful experience of seeing lion cubs so close to us, while their mother took a nap a few meters away... They´re experiences that will be etched in my memory all my life.

We ended up in Zanzibar, a paradise island in the Indian ocean, where we could rest and relax from the hustle of the safari (because that's true, if you want to see many animals and get the most of it, you definitely will not have much time to rest).

I don´t want to tell you more for now because I will be posting more about the trip. I hope you like the photos. KARIBU
