Tartan (or how your boyfriend can save your look)

Estoy cansada de esos mini vestidos con tirantes para las fiestas donde vas monísima pero pasando un frío mortal. Este año pasaba de congelarme y opté por un outfit calentito y elegante para cenar con la familia en Navidad. El toque especial lo pone el pañuelo tartan, que requisé temporalmente a mi chico, jeje. Cuando era más joven me gustaba ponerme los pañuelos con cinturón y ahora es tendencia. Qué cosas. Como siempre, espero que os guste. Que tengáis un final de año estupendo :)

I'm tired of those mini dresses with little straps for the holidays where you look really cute but you´re dying of cold. This year I didn´t feel like freezing so I decided to wear some warm and elegant outfit to dinner with family at Christmas Eve. The special touch is the tartan scarf, which I borrowed from my boyfriend, hehe. When I was younger I liked to wear scarves with belt and now it´s a trend! As always, I hope you like it and have a great holiday :)

Algunos de mis momentos favoritos de este año. Ha sido un año con grandes experiencias, entre las más importantes yo destaco mi vuelta a España tras casi 2 años de vivir en Chile y mis viajes, de los cuales guardo un especial cariño, cada uno con sus peculiaridades. Favourite coat

Tengo este abrigo desde hace ya varios años y la verdad es que sigue siendo mi favorito. Es curioso lo que pasa con este abrigo, es tan creativo y diferente que con él sólo caben dos opciones: o te encanta, o lo odias. La verdad es que los abrigos sencillos y discretos son los más combinables, pero increíblemente, cuando llega el frío, yo el que más utilizo es precisamente este. Además es muy calentito, la única pega que le pongo es que tiene tantos botones que te tiras media hora cada vez que tienes que abrocharlo/desabrocharlo, jeje. Pero bueno, los botones son otro de los detalles que adoro de este abrigo, así que como os digo, es mi favorito!

I´ve got this coat for several years and the truth is it´s still my favourite. What happens with this coat is funny: it´s so creative and different that there´re only two options: either you love it or hate it. The truth is that simple and discrete coats are the most wearable, but incredibly, when the cold comes, this is usually my best choice. It´s also very warm. I have only one complaint: it takes you long to fasten/unfasten all these buttons, hehe. Anyway, the buttons are other detail that I love more about this coat, so as I said, it´s my favourite!

Floral heels

Todos los años me puede el espíritu consumista de las navidades y siempre termino comprando caprichos. Este año he empezado antes y ya he adquirido un par de auto-regalos (jeje). El primero que os enseño es este par de tacones con estampado floral que vi en la web de Dresslily y me enamoró inmediatamente. El segundo lo veréis en próximos posts. Every year, consumerist spirit of Christmas is beyond me and I always end up buying whims. This year I started earlier and I´ve already purchased a pair of self-gifts (hehe). Cotton candy

Cómo cambian las cosas. Hace unos años el rosa pastel me parecía el color más cursi del mundo, y ahora soy capaz de llevarlo incluso en un total look. La verdad es que para mí, ahora el rosa representa toda la feminidad de la mujer y su delicadeza. Espero que os guste el outfit. Pasad una semana genial :D

Things change. A few years ago pastel pink seemed to me the corniest colour in the world, and now, I´m even able to wear it in a total look. The truth is that for me, pink represents woman´s femininity and delicacy. Hope you like the outfit. Have a great week! :D

La semana pasada tuve el placer de asistir a la boda de una gran amiga. Me llena de alegría poder formar parte del enlace entre dos personas a las que he conocido desde nuestra época universitaria. Estaba allí en algunos momentos muy buenos, y también en los malos; me hace muy feliz ver el comienzo de su vida en común. Quiero dedicar este post a ella, mi buena amiga. Chicos, os deseo lo mejor!

Last week I had the pleasure of attending the wedding of a good friend. I´m delighted to be part of the marriage between two people I´ve known since our college days. I was there on some good moments and bad moments. I´m very happy to see the beginning of their life together. I dedicate this post to her, my good friend. Guys, I wish you the best!

Effortless

Tras el outfit tan llamativo/arriesgado que os enseñé la semana pasada, hoy quería enseñaros este mucho más sencillo. Vale, le falla un poco el bolsito en verde, pero qué queréis que os diga, elegí los complementos en 15 segundos, y la verdad es que no me miré al espejo si quiera. Y es por eso precisamente por lo que me ha gustado tanto el resultado. Os mando un besazo y mil gracias por vuestros comentarios :D

After the last week outfit (a little risky for many of you) I wanted to show you this more wearable outfit. Okay, it fails a little with the green purse, but what do you want me to say, I chose the accessories in 15 seconds, and the truth is that I didn´t even look myself in the mirror. And that´s precisely why I love the result so much. A thousand kisses and thanks for all your comments : D

Vibrant Autumn

Ya sabéis cómo me gustan los colores vibrantes y su combinación para formar color block. En este caso es una variante de la combinación de colores triádicos (mezclar colores que formen un triángulo en la rueda de color). En este caso, el lila y el verde deberían llevar como acompañante el naranja, para poder formar el triángulo, sin embargo yo he optado por sustituir el naranja por el dorado. La combinación de dos colores vibrantes y un tercer tono metálico me parece que queda genial, espero que os guste.

You already know how I love vibrant colours and their combination to form colour block. This time it´s a variant of the triadic colour combination (mixing colours that shape a triangle on the colour wheel). In this case, purple and green should take orange as a companion, to form the triangle, but I opted to change the orange in gold. I think combining two vibrant colours and a third metal tone is great and I hope you like it.

Orange heels

Hoy os enseño mi última adquisición: estos preciosos zapatos en color naranja. A pesar de ser un color poco habitual para unos tacones yo lo encuentro súper chulo para combinar con prendas en color block como hoy o incluso alguna idea más arriesgada que tengo pensada y ya os iré enseñando por aquí. Los he comprado a través de Chicfy, que para las que no lo sepáis, es una web donde las chicas pueden vender y comprar prendas y accesorios de segunda mano (podéis consultar mi perfil de Chicfy aquí). Se han convertido en uno de mis zapatos favoritos, porque además son muy cómodos.

I wanted to show you my last purchase: these beautiful orange heels. Despite being an unusual colour for heels, I think they´re perfect to combine with solid patterned clothes in a colour block outfit like the one I show you today. But I also have some more risky ideas for these heels. I bought them in a second hand shop and they´ve already become one of my favourites.

HOW TO WEAR: Mix Print

Hoy quiero hablaros del Mix print, esa tendencia que, en mi opinión, o te encanta o la odias. Y es que es algo complicado al principio, pero en mi caso se trata a veces de intuición y otras de ir probando. El primer ejemplo que os traigo es el más sencillo de todos: combina estampado geométrico con estampado a rallas. La base del éxito para empezar a sentirte a gusto con el mix print es combinar prendas de la misma gama cromática, así el resultado no será tan estridente. El segundo ejemplo es un poco más arriesgado pero pienso que funciona gracias a que el fondo de ambos estampados es blanco, así que para no recargar más el outfit usé también blanco en los complementos. El tercer ejemplo es el más complicado, porque los estampados no coinciden ni en tonalidad ni en tamaño, simplemente empecé a combinar prendas con diferentes estampados y me gustó el resultado de la mezcla. Espero que os sirva alguna de estas ideas.

Today I want to speak about Mix print, this trend that, in my opinion, either you love it or you hate it. At first it´s a bit complicated, but in my case it´s sometimes intuition and sometimes keep trying. The first example that I show you is the simplest of all: it combines geometric print with stripes. The base of success to feel comfortable with the mix match it´s to choose prints in the same colour range. This way the result won´t be so strident. The second example is a bit more risky but I think it works because the background of both prints is white, so in order not to recharge the outfit I also chose white accessories. The third example is more complicated, because the patterns don´t coincide either in tone or size; I just started to combine clothes with different prints and I liked the result of this mixture. Hope you like some of these ideas.

White

Nada más fácil que combinar un look total white. Siempre queda elegante y muy chic. En este caso además, he combinado prendas súper básicas: una camiseta y una falda tubo. Muchas veces no es necesario complicarse mucho la vida para conseguir un outfit fresco. A mí este look me encanta precisamente por su sencillez. ¿y vosotros qué pensáis?

Nothing is easier than combining a total white look. It´s always elegant and very chic. In this case, I´ve chosen basic items: a T-shirt and a pencil skirt. Often it´s not necessary to complicate your life a lot to get a cool outfit. I love this outfit just because of its simplicity. What do you think?

Yellow sweater & leather pants

Hay dos prendas básicas que me salvan la vida en esta época del año: el trench y los leggings de cuero. Para mí son el must del otoño, porque además de sacarme de más de un apuro, son prendas muy fáciles de combinar, sobre todo si las elegimos en tonos neutros. El look que os enseño hoy es muy sencillo y cómodo para ir por la ciudad estos días. Un jersey en algún color de contraste, unos leggings de cuero y ya estamos listos. Espero que os guste.

There are two basic items that save my life this time of the year: a trench and a pair of leather leggings. For me, they are a must for Autumn. They bail me out more than once because they´re very easy to match, especially if we choose some neutral colours. The look that I show you today is very simple and comfy to go around town these days. A sweater in a vibrant colour, leather leggings and we're ready. Hope you like it.

Blue sequins

No hay nada que me guste más que encontrar ropa perdida por los armarios que está de última tendencia y que no sabía ni que tenía, sin necesidad de gastar dinero en las tiendas. En este caso la alegría me la dio mi madre. Ella encontró este precioso top de lentejuelas azules que tenía desde hace mil años y ahora puedo usarlo yo :D

There is nothing I like more than finding clothes in my closet that are trendy and didn´t know that I had it, no need to spend money in the stores. In this case it was my mother who gave me the joy. She found this beautiful blue sequined top that was in her wardrobe since a thousand years ago and now I can use it :D

Last days of Summer

En el Sur de España aún estamos disfrutando de unos días de sol y calor. Desgraciadamente, cada vez son menos frecuentes y se nota ya la llegada del otoño. No puedo evitarlo, voy a echarlo muchísimo de menos. Mis mejores recuerdos son siempre del verano: los viajes de vacaciones, la playa y las fiestas con los amigos. Para despedirlo he optado por este vestido con estampado floral; lo tengo desde hace un par de temporadas pero nunca lo había estrenado y a partir de hoy estará a la venta en el blog. Besos!

In southern Spain we are still enjoying a few days of sunshine and warmth. Unfortunately, they are becoming less frequent and Autumn is coming. I can´t help it, I'm going to miss it terribly. My best memories are always in Summer: holiday travels, the beach and partying with friends. To dismiss it I chose this dress with floral print; I have had it from a couple of seasons ago but I had never released it and from today it will be on sale on the blog. X.O.X.O.

Bali Photo Diary (Part III)

Conocida como la isla de los dioses, Bali es el lugar perfecto para ir de vacaciones. Siempre me ha parecido que la vida en una isla es muy diferente al continente, y realmente en Bali se puede disfrutar esta sensación. Parece que todo fluya más lento y armonioso, o será la cultura asiática lo que me produce esta sensación de paz, pero realmente Bali es un lugar genial para escapar del ajetreo. Espero que os gusten las fotos.

Dubbed as the Island of the Gods, Bali is the perfect place to go for holidays. It´s always seemed to me that life in an island is very different to the mainland, and you can really enjoy this feeling in Bali. It seems that everything runs slower and harmonious, or Asian culture is what gives me this sense of peace, but Bali is really great to get away from the rush. Hope you enjoy the pictures.

Lavender & pink

Ya sabéis todos por el blog que me encantan los colores pastel. Lo bueno que tienen estos tonos es que combinan perfectamente con otros colores pastel, y a mí me encanta combinarlos entre sí (podéis ver otro ejemplo aquí). En este caso he elegido este vestido de estampado psicodélico en color lavanda (por cierto, a la venta en el blog) y un bolso en tono rosa que era de mi madre y que me pareció el complemento perfecto para este look sencillo y fresco.

All of you know I love pastel colours. The good thing about them is that they combine perfectly among them and I love mixing them (you can see another example here). This time I chose this psychedelic lavender dress (on sale on the blog) and a pastel pink bag. This bag was my mother´s bag and I thought it was the perfect accessory for this simple and fresh outfit.

Hay colores que ellos solos son capaces de llenar de energía y optimismo cualquier outfit y uno de ellos es sin duda el fucsia. Esta falda me la habéis visto un par de veces ya por el blog (Neoprene skirt y Color block Vol II). Me encanta la forma que tiene y el tejido de neopreno la hace totalmente original. En los otros dos post la combiné con color block y en esta ocasión quería mostraros que queda igual de bien con una básica blanca.

There´re some colours capable of transforming an outfit in something full of energy and optimism. Fuchsia is one of these colours. I´ve shown you this skirt on the blog twice (Neoprene skirt and Color block Vol II). I love its shape and the neoprene fabric is totally singular. In the older posts I combined the skirt with color block but this time I wanted to show you that it looks good with a simple basic shirt as well.

Barcelona Photo Diary (Part I)

Barcelona es una de esas ciudades que atrae por su personalidad y diversidad. A mí desde luego me apasiona. Si me preguntaran qué es lo que más me gusta de Barcelona no se por qué aspecto me decidiría: tal vez por la atmósfera mágica de su barrio gótico, el diseño puntero de sus locales, la belleza en los detalles de sus edificios modernistas o el paseo obligado por el barrio del Born. Aunque he estado varias veces nunca me canso de Barcelona. Esta vez sólo estuvimos apenas 2 días, pero me queda su embrujo en el recuerdo.

Barcelona is one of those cities that attracts by its personality and diversity. I´m in love with BCN. If you ask me what I love more about this city I don´t know what I´ll choose: maybe the magic atmosphere of its Gothic Quarter, the top design of its shops and restaurants, the beauty in the details of its modernist buildings or walking through the Born neighbourhood; a must. Although I´ve been there several times I never get tired of Barcelona. This time we were only there a couple of days but I still remember its spell.

Mix Print

Ya estaba tardando en aparecer por mi armario alguna prenda con estampado de palmeras. La verdad es que me encantan y no se cómo ha tardado tanto, pero al fin, aquí está. Su estampado me recuerda al verano que ya se va y a las playas tropicales. Es inevitable, me transmite buenas vibraciones. Para darle un toque original decidí mezclarla con este top con estampado de flores. Pasad una estupenda semana!

I was taking too long to get a palm print garment for my closet but the truth is I love it and, finally, here it is. This print reminds me of Summer and tropical beaches. Inevitably, palm print gives me good vibes. To give the outfit an original touch I decided to mix it with this top with a floral pattern. Have a great week!

Babyblue & Valentino

Siempre me ha parecido que el azul y el rojo son dos colores que combinan a la perfección. Tengo varios outfits en esta gama pero nunca se me había ocurrido combinar el rojo Valentino con un azul más pastel y no se a vosotros, pero a mí me ha encantado el resultado.

I´ve always thought blue & red combine perfectly. I´ve shown you several outfits in this range, but combining Valentino red with pastel blue had never occurred to me until now. I love the result, what do you think?

Bridesmaid outfit

El outfit que os traigo hoy es muy especial. Una de mis mejores amigas se casó la semana pasada y tuve el honor de participar en la boda como dama de honor. Normalmente me gusta ir sencilla a las bodas, no me encuentro cómoda con tocados extravagantes ni telas excesivamente llamativas, aunque me encanta verlas en otras invitadas, sencillamente no es mi estilo. Sin embargo, esta vez decidí dar el salto con un vestido de corte sirena en tono verde que me pareció perfecto para la ocasión. Today´s outfit is very special to me. One of my best friends got married last week and I was honored to be her bridesmaid. I usually wear simple outfits at weddings, I don´t feel comfy with extravagant headdresses or overly flashy fabrics, although I love it in other guests, but definitely it´s not my style. However, this time I chose this mermaid dress in a green colour that I found perfect for that event. Few times you have the occasion to be your best friend bridesmaid and I wanted to take advantage of this opportunity.

¿Os acordáis de cuando escribía sobre Colombia y os contaba que para mí un cachito del paraíso estaba allí? Pues bueno, después de pasar apenas una semana en Bali me doy cuenta de que otro pedacito de paraíso reside precisamente aquí; en Bali. Se dan las condiciones para que sea un lugar mágico, entre bailarinas de Barong, pescadores y clima tropical. Como siempre, os dejo algunas imágenes; espero que las disfrutéis mucho. 

Do you remember when I wrote that for me a part of Paradise is in Colombia? Well, after spending just a week in Bali I realize that another piece of paradise lies precisely here; in Bali. This island is a magical place, between Barong dancers, fishermen and a tropical climate. Here are some of my pictures. I hope you enjoy them a lot.

Bali Photo Diary (Part I)

Cuando mi familia me propuso ir a Bali por vacaciones no lo dudé ni por un segundo. ¿Bali? SI. Para mí representaba todo el exotismo del sudeste asiático unido a la belleza de los templos hindúes y playas paradisíacas. Pero es mucho más que eso: los campos de arroz te absorben y no quieres parar de hacer fotos, su danza y música tradicional te atrapan desde el minuto uno, la gente siempre anda sonriendo a pesar de la pobreza que domina la isla. Y todo lleno de muchísimo color. Es la primera vez que piso Asia y ya estoy deseando volver.

When my family asked me to go to Bali on holidays I didn´t hesitate for a second. ¿Bali? YES. For me, Bali represented the exoticism of Southeast Asian attached to the beauty of Hindu temples and beautiful beaches. But Bali is much more than that: the rice fields will mesmerize you and you won´t be able to stop taking pictures, its traditional dance and music will captivate you all along, people will always smile at you despite the poverty that dominates the island. And all it´s filled with so much colour. It was my first time in Asia and I´m already looking forward to coming back.

Golden stripes

Ya sabéis que me gustan mucho las lentejuelas y los colores metalizados. Tengo una boda muy especial en unas semanas y compré este collar dorado como complemento al vestido. Se casa una de mis mejores amigas y soy dama de honor, qué ilusión :D Ya os enseñaré el post correspondiente, pero de momento os dejo con este en tonos metalizados que espero que os guste. HOW TO WEAR: Color Block

En este post quiero empezar con una sección nueva: HOW TO WEAR, donde voy a intentar daros ideas de cómo combino yo mis prendas para que podáis sacarle el máximo partido a las prendas que tengáis en casa o futuras compras. Hoy vamos a empezar con el color block y os traigo un par de opciones sencillas. La primera opción busca combinar dos colores opuestos en la rueda de colores, como en este caso el azul y el amarillo. La segunda opción se basa en combinar colores equivalentes (que pertenezcan a la misma familia) como la gama de rojos-fuchsias-violetas-morados. Y el último ejemplo que os traigo hoy es quizás la forma más fácil de obtener buenos resultados con color block, combinando prendas de la misma gama cromática, obeteniendo distintos tonos de un mismo color. Y nada más, así de fácil es combinar el color block. Espero que os guste esta nueva sección y que os de alguna idea :)

In this post I want to start a new section: HOW TO WEAR, where I will try to give you some ideas about how to combine your clothes in order to make the most of the clothes you have in home or future purchases. Today we´re going to start with the color block and I´ll show you some simple options. The first option seeks to combine two opposite colours on the colour wheel, as in this case, blue and yellow. The second option is based on combining equivalent colours (they belong to the same family) as the range of red-fuschia-violet-purple. And the last example of today is perhaps the easiest way to get good results with color block; combining clothes in the same colour range, getting different tones of the same colour. Floral maxi dress

Si revisáis mis últimos outfits de verano comprobaréis que suelo optar por prendas muy frescas para llevar en esta época. No suelo llevar pantalones largos ni tampoco tejidos demasiado gordos ni con mangas largas. Es curioso, porque en verano me considero una persona muy calurosa, pero en invierno soy la más friolera de todos. En este caso y para no aburriros tanto con mis faldas midi que últimamente acaparan el blog, os enseño este maxi vestido con estampado floral que me compré inicialmente para una boda (en general no me gusta sobrecargarme en exceso para estos eventos) y que ahora estoy llevando más para salir por las tardes. Espero que os guste el look!

If you review my last Summer outfits, you can check that I usually choose fresh clothes to wear at this season. I don´t normally wear trousers neither thick fabrics or long sleeves. It´s a funny fact because during Summer I´m always hot but in Winter I´m the shiveriest person in the world. This time (in order not to bore you with my midi skirts which monopolize the blog lately) I want to share some images of this maxi dress with floral print that I bought for a wedding (In general, I don´t like to recharge the outfit for that kind of events) and now, I wear it to go out in the evenings. DIY Project: Pastel pink lace skirt

Hola chic@s! El post que os traigo hoy es muy especial para mí. Se trata de un nuevo proyecto que tengo en mente donde voy a crear una colección de prendas y accesorios. Tanto el diseño como la confección de cada elemento será especialmente elaborado por mí. Para aquellas de vosotras a las que os guste alguno de mis diseños sabed que voy a realizarlos bajo pedido. El funcionamiento será el siguiente: puntualmente iré mostrando alguna prenda o complemento diseñado por mí en el blog y si os gusta, sólo tenéis que contactadme a elarmariodelanena@hotmail.es para encargar el vuestro. Y lo mejor de todo es que son prendas elaboradas a medida, es decir, cada encargo se realizará con las medidas específicas de cada persona para que la prenda sea única y especial para cada chica. De esta forma nos aseguramos de que la prenda os quede perfecta! Es un proyecto en el que estoy poniendo todo mi entusiasmo y que espero que os guste mucho!

Hoy os enseño mi primer diseño. Una falda tubo (ya sabéis que las adoro) en encaje guipur en tono rosa pastel. Quería que todo el protagonismo de este look se lo llevara la falda y por eso lo combiné con prendas y complementos sencillos en tonos neutros. Estoy deseando leer todos vuestros comentarios!

Hi everyone! Today´s post is about something very special to me. I have in mind a new project where I´m going to create a collection of clothes and accessories. Both, the design and the manufacture of each item, will be specially handmade by me. For those of you who love some of my designs you must know that you can order them made just for you. Today I want to take the chance to show you my first design. A pencil skirt (you know I adore them) in guipure lace in pastel pink. I wanted to let all the attention to fall on the skirt, so I combined it with simple garments and accessories in neutral tones. I´m looking forward to reading all your comments!

A long time ago... (sailor stripes)

Hola a todos, ¿cómo estáis? Hoy os traigo un look con prendas que tengo en el armario desde hace muchísimo tiempo (la falda por ejemplo tiene casi 15 años). Me gusta mucho rebuscar en el armario y descubrir que aún puedo sacarle partido a prendas que tenía ya olvidadas. Desde que volví de Chile me he propuesto hacer una rehabilitación de mi antiguo armario; parte de las prendas las estoy reutilizando para outfits más actuales, parte os la estoy vendiendo a vosotras a través del blog (click aquí si quieres más info) y parte la estoy modificando con pequeños trucos de costura que ya os iré enseñando en futuros posts. De momento os dejo con este outfit de inspiración marinera que espero que os guste :)

Hi everyone, what´s up? Today, I wanted to make an outfit proposal with garments that I have in the closet for a longtime (for example, the skirt is almost 15 years old). I love searching in the closet and realize I can still wear clothes that I forgot I had. Now that I came back from Chile I´m doing a clear-up of my closet; some of the clothes I´ll wear now in more trending outfits, I´ll sell another part through the blog (click here if you want more info) and I´ll change the rest with some little sewing tricks I will show you in future posts. Floral & Gold

Una idea que me gusta bastante para esta época de calor es combinar prendas muy fresquitas en tonos neutros (por cierto, si os gusta la falda la podéis encontrar a la venta aquí). El toque diferente se lo damos añadiendo complementos en dorado, como estas sandalias que acabo de adquirir por Ebay y que son mis nuevas favoritas. ¿qué os parece?

For the hot season I usually like to combine some fresh garments in neutral tones (by the way, if you like the skirt you can find it here. I chose golden accessories to give the outfit a different touch, like these heels that I just bought at Ebay and they´re my new favourites now. What do you think?

Por cierto, me habéis preguntado muchas acerca del bikini que os enseñé en el primer post sobre Colombia. Lo compré en Cartagena, se trata de una diseñadora colombiana que elabora sus prendas a mano con especial mimo y eso se nota en el acabado de sus prendas de baño. Ya conocía su web antes de viajar (os dejo el link aquí) y como podéis imaginar cuando entré en la tienda no podía decidirme, todos los modelos son extraordinarios. Al final me decidí por este. Espero que os gusten las fotos.

She´s a Colombian designer who creates handmade garments with special care and it shows in the finish of her swimwear. I knew her website before my trip (I leave you the link here) and as you can imagine when I walked in the store I couldn´t decide, all models are extraordinary. In the end, I chose this one. Colombia Photo Diary (part III)

Hoy os quería mostrar la tercera parte de mi viaje por Colombia. Supongo que muchos estaréis un poco cansados de tanto post viajero (y os pido disculpas), pero es que realmente he quedado enamorada de este maravilloso país y me hace mucha ilusión poder compartir con vosotros estas imágenes. Como me lo estáis preguntando mucho os resumo la ruta que recorrimos a grandes rasgos: Bogotá - eje Cafetero (Salento, Valle de Cocora y fincas cafeteras) - Costa Caribe (Cartagena de Indias, Islas del Rosario e Isla Barú) - Sierra de Santa Marta (parque natural Tayrona) - San Gil - Barichara. Espero que las fotos sirvan para transmitiros un poco mi entusiasmo por este hermoso rincón del mundo.

Today, I wanted to show you the third part of my trip around Colombia. I suppose you must be a little tired of so many traveller posts (and I must apologize about that). But I really fell in love with this amazing country and I´m thrilled to share with you these images. Because you asked me a lot about our route, I´m going to summarize it roughly: Bogotá - Coffee Region (Salento, Cocora Valley and Coffee farms) - Caribbean Coast (Cartagena de Indias, Rosario Islands and Barú Island) - Santa Marta Mountains (Tayrona National Park) - San Gil - Barichara. I hope the pictures serve to convey you my enthusiasm for this beautiful corner of the world.

Hola a todos! Hoy vengo a proponeros una idea para dar una vuelta de tuerca más a prendas que tenemos muertas de risa en el armario. Gracias a la tendencia del mix print yo he podido reciclar este top (que lo tenía hasta hace poco a la venta en el blog y ahora he decidido darle una segunda oportunidad). Creo que no debemos limitarnos siempre a la clásica combinación de estampado+liso, sino también, porqué no, llevar estampado+estampado como en este caso. Espero que os guste y, como siempre, me muero de ganas de leer todos vuestros comentarios :)

Hi folks! Today I wanted to suggest an idea to give a second chance to items that we haven´t worn for a long time. With the trend of Mix print I could recycle this top (It was up for sale on the blog until a few days ago that I thought to give it a second chance). I think we shouldn´t always limit ourselves to the classic combination of print + solid colours, but also, why not, wearing print + print as in this case. Hope you like it and as always, I´m looking forward to reading all your comments :)

Silver sequins

Tras mi viaje a Colombia y tras casi dos años de estar viviendo en Santiago de Chile, hemos vuelto a pasar una temporada en España. Una de las cosas que más echaba de menos cuando vivía en Chile era salir a comer de tapas. Por eso fue una de las primeras cosas que hicimos a nuestro regreso. Me apetecía ir elegante pero sin recargar demasiado el outfit y este fue el resultado. Espero que os guste :)

Por cierto, hoy he decidido reabrir la tienda (podéis ver todas las prendas disponibles en la sección SHOP MY WARDROBE, debajo de la cabecera del blog). After my trip to Colombia and almost two years lived in Santiago de Chile, we´ve returned to spend some time in Spain. One of the things I missed most when I lived in Chile was to go out to eat tapas. So, it was one of the first things we did when we returned. I wanted to go elegant but not to overburden the outfit and this was the result. Hope you like it :)

Green and red

Hay un dicho que dice "rojo y verde muerde". Sin embargo yo soy de las que piensa que todo está permitido si te sientes cómoda con el resultado. Para el caso concreto del rojo+verde pienso que el truco está en combinar uno de los dos colores en alguna prenda dominante, mientras el otro color queda reducido a algo de menor volumen, como en este caso a los zapatos. De esta forma evitaremos que ambos colores se hagan la competencia entre sí, ya que se trata de dos colores muy intensos. Feliz semana! y mil gracias por vuestros comentarios!

In Spanish, there´s a saying that goes something like "red and green bites". However I think that everything is allowed if you´re comfy with the result. In this case of red+green I think the trick is to combine one of the colours in a dominant garment while wearing the other one in a more subtle way, like the heels, for example. Green and red are very intense colours, so this way we can avoid both colours being competitive with each other. Happy week and thanks for all your comments!

Indigo

Uno de mis colores favoritos. Sin duda, el azul índigo favorece a todas las personas y llena de vida por sí sólo cualquier outfit. Pensé que los salones rojos combinarían perfecto con este atuendo; y para darle el toque especial, este collar de estilo étnico.

Definitely one of my favourite colours, blue klein looks good on everyone and gives life to any outfit. I thought the red heels would combine with this outfit perfectly; and giving a special touch, this ethnic necklace.

Hemos hecho trekking por la selva viendo animales exóticos y coloridos, nos hemos bañado en el Caribe y bebido zumos de frutas tropicales hasta hartarnos.
